Wim Blaasse

Wim has been with the group from the very start. Before helping to establish DIF in 2005, he was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers responsible for infrastructure/PPP and energy-related transactions. Before that, Wim was Head of Project Finance at Rabobank International where he was responsible for a global mandate covering all sectors. During a 12-year tenure at Rabobank International he held various roles within corporate finance. Wim holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Robert Doekes

Robert joined DIF in 2009 and is responsible for finance and investor reporting. Previously Chief Financial Officer at Mirror Controls International (MCi), he was responsible for finance and controlling, treasury, ICT, tax and legal affairs. Prior to MCi, Robert was Executive Vice President of Finance at various companies. With a Master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Groningen, Robert has also completed a post-graduate study for Controller at the University of Amsterdam and is a member of the Dutch Institute of Chartered Controllers.

Andrew Freeman

Andrew joined DIF in 2011 as a member of the origination team, focusing on transactions in the United Kingdom. He took over his current role managing exit processes in 2016 and, with it, the responsibility for leading, preparing and executing the exit of DIF investments. He has managed our UK office since 2018. Previously a member of the Infrastructure Team at PwC, Andrew advised on primary and secondary PPP transactions with a focus on fund setups and exits, listings and valuations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Portsmouth and is registered as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Willem Jansonius

Willem joined DIF in 2016 and is responsible for the co-ordination of DIF CIF projects. As such, he is involved in the origination, analysis, investments and management of our DIF CIF investments. Previously Managing Director and Head of Benelux and Nordics at Macquarie Capital, Willem was responsible for infrastructure advisory and principal activities for seven years. Before Macquarie, Willem spent nine years at ABN AMRO Corporate Finance in Amsterdam and London. He has originated and led a wide range of international infrastructure transactions across Energy & Utilities, Telecoms and Transportation. Willem holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Utrecht University and a Master’s degree in Finance from Nyenrode University.

Carl Jobst von Hörsten

Carl Jobst joined DIF in 2008 to launch our German operations. He is responsible for the origination, execution, optimisation and exit of renewable energy transactions in Germany – and jointly with German developers/owners outside of the country. He is also responsible for PPP transactions in the country. Previously a Managing Director at Allco for ten years, Carl handled the origination of wind energy transactions in Germany. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Münster.

Marko Kremer

Marko joined DIF in 2008 as a member of the origination team and is responsible for North America since October 2020. As Head of North America, his remit covers the origination, execution and value enhancement of investments in both Canada and the United States. In 2015 Marko established our Sydney office and opened up the Australian market. Previously an Associate Director in the Leveraged Finance Team at ABN AMRO, Marko was responsible for originating, structuring and executing leveraged finance opportunities. Marko holds a Master’s degree in Management Engineering from the University of Twente and is a CFA and CAIA charter holder.

Christopher Mansfield

Christopher joined DIF in 2008 and is responsible for overseeing all renewable energy investment activity. Previously Head of Wind Energy at Allco, Christopher was responsible for establishing and managing the group’s European wind energy business. He has also worked at BP, where he spent two years establishing their Alternative Energy wind energy strategy and leading the business in Europe and Asia. Christopher holds a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Durham and a Master’s degree in Management Science from Imperial College, University of London.

Fernando Moreno Gorostizaga

Fernando joined DIF in 2015 and is responsible for the origination, execution and asset management of investments in Spain. With 15 years’ experience at several leading Spanish infrastructure businesses, Fernando has been involved in a wide range of transactions in the transportation, healthcare and water sectors. Previous roles include Senior Investment Director at infrastructure developer Globalvia Inversiones, CFO at construction group Sacyr Concesiones, Head of International Structured Finance at concession company Itinere, and Head of Finance at construction company FCC. Fernando holds an EMBA from IESE Business School and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Universidad Complutense.

Paul Nash

Paul joined DIF in 2008 to establish the UK operations and was responsible for the infrastructure investment activities of the traditional DIF funds. As of 2020, Paul leads the infrastructure debt team which includes having overall responsibility for the debt strategy and portfolio. Previously a Director at XL Capital Assurance, Paul was responsible for writing AAA-rated financial guarantees for infrastructure bonds across Europe. In his earlier career, Paul spent ten years originating and structuring senior debt for infrastructure and project finance transactions at Rabobank International, and later worked as Deputy Head of Structured Finance at Helaba – both in London. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Imperial College, University of London.

Hugo Peek

Hugo Peek joined DIF in 2020 to set up and lead the private debt strategy. Prior to DIF, Hugo spent a total of 22 years at ABN AMRO, most recently as CEO Corporate & Institutional Banking EMEA. He was also a voting member of ABN AMRO’s highest credit committee and investment committee. Hugo trained as a project financier and M&A banker at ABN AMRO at the start of his career, later becoming Global Co-Head of Power & Utilities, and (deputy) head of ABN AMRO’s Corporate Development M&A team. Other roles included Global Head of Corporate & Institutional Clients and of Corporate Finance & Capital Markets. Halfway through his career with ABN AMRO, Hugo spent three years at Van Lanschot Kempen, co-heading its Corporate Finance business unit. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Nyenrode University and a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Angela Roshier

Angela joined DIF in 2010 and oversees the asset management of all investments. Previously a member of 3i Plc and Actis’s Infrastructure teams, she offers more than 20 years’ experience in the field. Angela has contributed to the origination and asset management of a wide variety of infrastructure assets in the PPP, water, renewable energy and transport sectors in both Europe and emerging markets. She holds an MBA from London Business School and an MA from the University of Cambridge.

Allard Ruijs

Allard joined DIF in 2007 and was initially responsible for the origination, execution, optimisation and exit of renewable energy and infrastructure transactions. In 2012, he took control of our fund raising, investor relations, business development and marketing activities. Previously Head of Private Equity, Infrastructure, Commodities and Special Products at MnServices, one of the largest Dutch asset managers, Allard managed a €5 billion portfolio of alternative investments. Allard holds an Executive Master in Auditing from the University of Groningen and is registered as a Register Accountant (Chartered Accountant) with the Dutch Institute of Chartered Accountants.
