The project

The A150 completes the connection from Rouen to the existing A29, which runs on to Le Havre. The investment covers the design, construction, operation, maintenance and financing of 18km of two-lane motorway, with the scope of work also including a 476m viaduct, plus a toll plaza incorporating an operations and maintenance centre. The 55 years concession agreement with the French State, Ministère de l’Ecologie, du Développement Durable et de l’Energie, reached financial close in December 2011. We acquired a 67% stake in the project.

Great care has been taken to minimise impact on the surrounding environment, including earthworks to hide traffic from the view of nearby residents, acoustic protection that meets particularly restrictive regulations, a significant tree planting programme and a dedicated environmental impact report. After three years of construction, the motorway opened to traffic a month ahead of schedule in February 2015 at a cost of €165 million. On an annual basis total volume of traffic is over 3 million vehicles, with heavy vehicles representing ca. 8-10% of this number.
