The A63 highway project is located in the South West of France and comprises the enlargement, financing, operation & maintenance of the existing 105km N10 road that runs between Salles (Gironde) and Saint-Geours de Maremne (Landes) under a 40 year concession agreement;
The project is a brownfield toll road, benefitting from historic traffic data;
Financial close of the project was in January 2011 and was commissioned in November 2013, 7 months ahead of schedule;
The project cost was € 1.1 billion, including the payment of a € 400 million entry fee to the French state;
In July 2015 the existing debt finance was refinanced with a new € 860 million long term non-recourse debt facility. As part of the refinancing the existing swaps were restructured with a group of lenders and institutional investors, taking advantage of lower interest rates.
